In general, if you can not view the VRML test object then you need to install a viewer:
model/vrml
where the Cosmo Player plug-in is a VRML viewer which works with Netscape.
You may quickly get a local copy of Cosmo Player for

There is an OOGL viewer called geomview which is available
for many UNIX systems.
You may get OpenGL for Suns and OpenGL for IBM RS/6000 AIX. There is also an OpenGL like system called Mesa for many different platforms. VRweb is a Mesa based VR viewer for many platforms, including Linux. Beta versions of VRweb are available for UNIX platforms including SGI, SUN OS, SUN Solaris, DEC Alpha, DEC Ultrix, HPUX, and LINUX
A demo copy of Ez3D is available from Radiance Software for many platforms.
To set up the VRML viewer, enter the following into the HelperApplication or
ExternalViewer dialog box in your Web Browser:

Note that you may need to supply the complete path to the application. Also, some browsers need a '.' preceeding the extensions entry.
There are several viewers available for PCs including Cosmo Player, Liquid Reality, Live3D, and WIRL.

For those wishing to build VRML scenes, Fountain is available
from Caligari and WebSpaceAuthor is available from SGI.

Many of the VRML viewers require QuickDraw 3D on your system. You may quickly get a copy of QD3D_1.0_Net_Install.hqx for your system. Note that this copy may not be as recent as the previous reference however.
