This is a 1.7MB test
movie
. If you can not view it, you need to install a viewer:
To set up the QuickTime viewer, enter the following into the HelperApplication or
ExternalViewer dialog box in your Web Browser:
| MIME type / subtype | video/quicktime |
|---|---|
| extensions | mov,qt |
| application | mplayer |
where mplayer (Windows Media Player) with QT extensions (qtw) is one of many QuickTime viewers.
You may quickly get a copy of qt16-211.exe for Windows 3.1 or qt32-211.exe for Windows95/NT. Note that these copies may not be as recent as the previous reference however.
Note that you may need to supply the complete path to the application.
Also, some browsers need a '.' preceeding the extensions entry.
Note: when setting up your broswer, you want to
point to mplayer.exe, not qtnotify.exe. Also, be careful that you
DO NOT replace any files in your Window's
SYSTEM directory with files from the QTW distribution. If you already have some files in that directory that
have the same name as what came with QTW, then DO NOT
put the QTW files into the SYSTEM directory. After modifying
WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI and putting the
QTW files into the SYSTEM directory, you'll need to restart
Windows for the changes to take affect.
