where acroread is an Acrobat PDF viewer.
You may get Sun, HP, IBM, or SGI versions from Adobe.
You may quickly get a local copy of acrdsrch_irix_30.tar.gz, acrdsrch_sunos_30.tar.gz, acrdsrch_solaris_30.tar.gz, acrdsrch_hpux_30.tar.gz, or acrdsrch_aix_30.tar.gz. Note that these copies may not be as recent as the previous references however.
To set up the PDF viewer, enter the following into the HelperApplication or
ExternalViewer dialog box in your Web Browser:

Users should note that IF they already have a version of ATM (Adobe Type Manager) installed on their system (by installing some other Adobe product, such as Illustrator), then there are additional steps that need to be taken during the installation process. On start up, a message will appear informing you to "customize ATM". Even after doing this, the message persists. What you need to do is to move the old copy of ATM out of the Control Panel Folder, and move ATM LE from the Acrobat Reader Folder into the Mac's Control Panel Folder. AcroRead and Illustrator (or whatever) will then work.
