JPEG Image Test

• UNIX:

  add the following viewer entry to your mailcap file:
  

  image/jpeg; xloadimage   %s
  

  where xloadimage and xv are some of the many jpeg viewers. Note that if you use xv, you need to register the software with the author (see the Licence info).
  

  You may quickly get a copy of xloadimage.4.1.tar.gz or xv-3.10a.tar.gz for UNIX systems. Note that this copy may not be as recent as the previous reference however.

  
  

• PCs:

  To set up the JPEG viewer, enter the following into the HelperApplication or ExternalViewer dialog box in your Web Browser:
  
  

  MIME type / subtype	image/jpeg
  extensions	jpeg, jpg, jpe
  application	lview31

  where lview31, psp (Paint Shop Pro), and ulview are some of the many jpeg viewers. Note that if you use psp, you need to register the software with the author (see the Licence info).
  

  You may quickly get a copy of lview31.zip, psp311.zip (Win 3.1), psp412.zip (Win95 / WinNT), or ulview11.zip for Windows. Note that these copies may not be as recent as the previous reference however.

  Note that you may need to supply the complete path to the application. Also, some browsers need a '.' preceeding the extensions entry.
  
  
  
  

• Mac:

  To set up the JPEG viewer, enter the following into the HelperApplication or ExternalViewer dialog box in your Web Browser:
  
  

  MIME type / subtype	image/jpeg
  extensions	jpeg,jpg,jpe
  application	jpeg-view

  There are several Mac based jpeg viewers available. jpeg-view is one of many jpeg viewers. You may quickly get a copy of jpegview-33-fat.hqx for the Macintosh. Note that this copy may not be as recent as the previous reference however.

  Note that you will use the Browse button to find the location the application on your disk. Also, some browsers need a '.' preceeding the extensions entry.
